Death was due to blood poisoning caused by an accident which befell Mr. Bock, the week previous to his death. Mr. Bock sustained a cut on his head when he fell against the radiator of his car in attempting to crank the machine. As he was manipulating the crank, his foot slipped, and he was thrown forward, his head striking the machine with considerable force. A severe wound was inflicted in the region of the eye. The wound soon developed blood poisoning and he was brought to a hospital in Le Mars. His condition was serious from the first, but his condition showed signs of mending for a time and hopes were entertained for his ultimate recovery. A relapse ensued and the result was fatal.

His death is mourned by his wife and son and a large number of relatives and friends. The body was shipped from here to Remsen where the funeral was held. ? About a week ago Mr. Bock was taken to the hospital, suffering from a severe case of blood poisoning, sustained a few days previous while cranking a car. He received the cut over his eye when he fell against the radiator of the machine. His condition while at the hospital grew steadily worse, and physicians could not check the poison, when erysipelas set in and pneumonia later. Those who mourn his sudden death are his wife and two small children, also his aged parents who reside at Gladbrook, Ia., and one brother, Emil. The deceased was 40 years of age. The funeral was held Saturday, from the St. Paul's church, under the auspices of the Pieper post, American legion, of which Mr. Bock was a member. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. H.
