    CONFLICT: Have seen Isaac's mother listed as Gwenllian Morgan. Death date 2 or 4th of July 1772. May have died 2 July and buried 4th July.dl BIOGRAPHY: Isaac was a Baptist Minister at Hopewell, NJ from 1748-1772. He established Hopewell Academy forerunner of R.I. College, later Brown University. From "Stout and Allied Families". In a Brochure of the Hopewell Museum states: "Hopewell early established schools. In 1756 Isaac Eaton opened an outstanding Academy in the lovely old Holcome house on West Broad Street. The New Jersey Legislature would not give him a charter to expand his school into a college so he moved to Rhode Island where he received more encouragement. His school eventually became Brown University." DEATH: Will proved 20 Aug 1772: Lib. 15, p.467, New Jersey Will. Names issue: "David a minor". Buried at pulpit of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Husband, Isaac Eaton was a minister and practised physic at Hopewell: founded ministerial seminary and buried at pulpit of Hopewell Baptist Church. Colonel Joseph Stout Chapter of D.A.R. has an etching of the church: "The first Old School Baptist Church, Organized in America April 23, 1715. A brochure of "The Hopewell Museum" states:: "Jonathon Stout (8th child of Ancestor, Richard Stout) was the first settler in the immediate vicinity of Hopewell Borough. He moved here in 1708 after the purchase of a large tract of land described as one-sixteenth part of West Jersey. He had first visited the area to hunt with friendly Indians. Descendants still live in the community and take an active interest in the Museum. Also in the same brochure it says: "Hopewell early established schools. In 1756 Isaac Eaton opened an outstanding Academy in the lovely old Holcome house on West Broad Street. The New Jersey Legislature would not give him a charter to expand his school inot a college so he moved to lRhode Island where he received more encouragement. His school eventually became Brown Universit y." Rebecca Stout lived with her daughter Pamelia (Eaton) Humphrey in Humphreyville, PA in later years when she was widowed. She joined the Hepzibah Baptist Church there. She was buried in the Hepzibah cemetery, plot to the right of the church toward the front.
