    Notes:

    John Garton served as the Sheriff of Richmond county in1690. He died testate in 1698, leaving a will written 17 Jun 1697 that left half his large estate to his wife and five children. On 16 Mar 1701Thomas Petty, on behalf of his wife's family, brought brought suit against Robert Post, executor of her father's will, who died before distributing the estate.
