  Geoffrey II of Thouars, he was born in 990 in Thouars and he died around 1055. He is the son of Savary III 10 th Viscount of Thouars 1015-1055 or 1058. He succeeded his uncle Raoul I st in 1015. It continues the war waged by Raoul against the Count William V of Poitiers, and the lord Hugh IV of Lusignan said Le Brun and the chief captain. After mutual victories and defeats, the peace ends up being made on the basis of the marriage of the daughter of Geoffroy II, Audéarde (Auliarde, Aldiarde), with Hugues IV of Lusignan. His relations with the Count of Anjou, Foulque III Nerra, are difficult, this one built in 1026 a castle in Montfaucon, and relocating strongly to Montreuil (20 km north of Thouars ) which he entrusts to a guardian, Berlai. Geoffroy de Thouars became a monk in Saint-Michel-en-l'Hermjust before dying in 1055 . He married Agnès de Blois (daughter of Eudes I Count of Blois and Berthe of Burgundy), they have children: 1.)
