THE APPOINTMENT DESCRIBED BELOW GIVES US MEMBERS FROM THREE GENERATIONS OF A FAMILY:
Louisa, Virginia deed book L, page 85
On 30 October 1807, Michael Perkins of Madison, Kentucky appoints his son, Jesse Perkins of the same county and state as his attorney-in-fact to receive all money due to him in the State of Virginia and County of Louisa "on account of my legacy in my mother's estate, Mary Perkins" and to "make good and lawful deeds to any person who may purchase my part of two tracts of land of my said mother".
THE DEED DESCRIBED BELOW GIVES US FATHER-TO-SON RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN JOHN PERKINS AND MICHAEL PERKINS, AND BETWEEN MICHAEL PERKINS AND JESSE PERKINS:
Louisa, Virginia deed book L, page 87
On 8 February 1808, "Jesse Perkins, attorney in fact for his father, Michael Perkins of the County of Madison of the State of Kentucky" sells to William G. Poindexter of Louisa, Virginia, for $100, "one eleventh part of a tract of land whereof John Perkins, dec'd, died seized, whereon he lived at the time of his death" containing 386 acres of land in Louisa County on both sides of the South Anna River "being the share of the said Michael as one of the sons of said John Perkins, dec'd" to have and hold "except the dower of Mary Perkins in one third of the same".
