Video film of Bertha's own words. !BIRTH:13 Apr 1899, Oklahoma. Born at Marlow, OK, Indian Territory. She was about 5'4 to 5'5" tall, slim build, with gray hair, and greenish blue eyes. !MARRIAGE:7 May 1916, McCaulley, Fisher Co., Texas, Volume 2, Page 563, Marriage Records of Fisher Co., Texas; certified copy in possession of Barbara EWING SATTERFIELD. This copy should be given to the most appropriate EVANS family member with the surname "EVANS". The recepient must be a direct descendant of Horace and Bertha EVANS. This should occur after the death of Barbara SATTERFIELD. Charles EWING has the origional Marriage Certificate in his possession. !DEATH:27 Dec 1984, Lubbock, Lubbock Co., Texas, Golden Age Nursing Home. Bertha had Parkinson's Disease which was degenerative & debilitating over several years. Bertha was confined to a wheel chair and was a debilitated and withered old lady that one typically sees in nursing homes. She was bedridden her last few months of life. She simply withered up, slowly quit breathing & died. !BURIAL:Services were at Franklin-Bartley Chapel in Lubbock, Texas at 2:00 P.M., Saturday December 29, 1984. Officiating was Mr. Robert Teague. Casketbearers were Grandsons. Interment is Resthaven Memorial Park.
