- Sir Richard Croft, KB (1487, following Battle of Stoke), of Croft Castle; High Sheriff and MP Herefs; fought with Yorkists at Mortimer's Cross 1461, the battle being fought on his own estate; captured Prince Edward, son of Henry VI, at the Battle of Tewkesbury 1471 but was not responsible for the Prince's murder; Treasurer of Household to Henry VII; married Eleanor, widow of Sir Hugh Mortimer, of Kyre Wyard, Worcs, and daughter of Sir Edmund Cornwall, of Burford, Salop, and died 29 July 1509.
