  • Notes
    • !Source: Sara Fulks' Holbrook family history. She notes this family
      lived in
Stafford co, VA ca 1726 to 1752.

!Through Prodigy I learned from Robert Martin JDSW19B that Jannett
      Patterson
(also spelled Pattison) m lst Henry Conyers of Stafford Co, VA.
      Conyers was an
immigrant from England who was County Surveyor of Stafford County
      and a
widower. Jannett was a maid in his houlehold and they had one child
      prior to
their marriage and then had 3 children. Robert did not list their
      children but
did note that he descends through Ann Holland Conyers, a dau of
      Jannett and
Henry. I have sent him an electronic message asking for whatever
      additional
information he might have on Jannett Patterson, as well as the names
      of her
      children from Henry Conyers.

!The Register of Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co, VA 1723-1758,
      compiled and
published kby George Harrison Sanford King, a fellow of the American
      Society of
Genealogists of Frederickburg, VA, 1961, found in the Ft. Worth
      Public Library
      by Sara Fulks, noted Footnote 1, p 22: "Henry Conyers (16 - 1733)
      appears in
Stafford County ca 1700. By an unknown first wife he had Hester
      Conyers who
married John Mauzey and left issue. Out of Wedlock by Jannett
      Patterson
(Pattison) he had Sarah Patterson Alias Conyers who married Thomas
      Hampton on 1
June 1749. Henry married the said Jannett Patterson in 1727 and had
      ((3) Ann k
Holland Conyers (1728-1806) who m Edward Payne, Gentleman and (4)
      Theodosia
Conyers b ca 1730 per per depositon who m James Oduneraz l. Jannett
      Patterson
Conyers, widow, married secondly in 1733 shortly after the death of
      Henry
Conyers, Randall Holbrook. Dr. A.J. Mauzey gives considerabler
      genealogical
information in regard to the Mauzey-Conyers family in his article in
      "The VA
Magazine of History and Biographyu, Vol 58, p 112-119. Col Brook
      Payne in "The
Paynes of Virginia " pages 235-238 gives an excellent account of the
      Family of
Edward Payne, Gentleman, with notes on the Conyers family.
