Additional source: Letter from Jerry Ponder, dated 24 Sept 1988, in which children of Abner are named as Mary, Archibald, William Penn, Amos, Abner J., Clarissa, Jefferson, and James Madison. Jerry speculates that perhaps Reuben and Thomas were also sons of Abner since the names of Reuben and Thomas show up as names of Abner's grandchildren. !Newstory in Hickman Co Times, 13 Dec 1989, notes that Elizabeth m James William Penn Weems.
