This Ponder Genealogy, 24 pages, was provided me by Mrs. Catherine
      Ponder,
wife of Thomas C. Ponder, Houston, TX, in Oct 1988. The author of
      the Ponder
listings is not identified anywhere. It appears that a descendants
      of John
Ponder and Margaret Cummings developed it. (Nov 5, 1988, John T.
      Palmer,
      Santa Rosa, CA 95409)

!Ponder note, perhaps summarized by Virginia Echols, notes that
      "they returned
to South Carolina before John's death, but their children remained
      in Georgia a
that Margaret later returned to Georgia where she died in Monroe Co,
      GA, in
      1842.

      later
acquired land in Oglethorpe and Wilkes Co, GA. They returned to SC
      before
