- Excerpt from 16 Aug 1932 text written by W.B. Russell age 82:
"Grandfather had four boys and four girls. Creasy was the oldest child, born in 1829. She married William Brewer and had four children. Then she married Elija Cothers and had two children, Ben and Bob, who are yet alive. The Brewer children are dead."
"Lucresia Rials Brewer Cothern died at B.F. Boyd's in 1895. Paralysis, I believe was the cause."

In same census, next house, #28, is her son William W and his family. House #30 is Fielding Dunaway f/of William's wife Elizabeth. From booklet "Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, Carters Creek, MS 1812-1962, Celebrates Its Sesquicentennial". Booklet gives brief history of church. One item: 1884 Enon Baptist Church was organized in The Grange hall, located near the Head of Carter's Creek. The following members were granted letters of dismissal from Bogue Chitto into this organization. W. W. Brewer, Elijah Cothern, Lucretia Cothern, and 20 others. This proves Lucretia lived at least to 1884. W. W. Brewer was her son by David Brewer.
