- John Lestrange, 8th Lord (Baron) Strange (of Knockyn) and 4th Lord (Baron) Mohun; born c1444, a prominent Yorkist; married 1st by 27 Mar 1450 (?Lady) Jacquette (?Woodville), allegedly 4th daughter of 1st Earl Rivers of the 1466 creation and sister of Elizabeth, wife of Edward IV; married 2nd Anne (?) Nevill(e), youngest daughter of 1st Lord (Baron) Bergavenny, and dspm 16 Oct 1479, leaving an only child and heiress, who according to later legal doctrine succeeded in her own right to the Baronies of Strange (of Knockyn) and Mohun. BARONY OF STRANGE OF KNOKYN (VIII)
JOHN (LESTRANGE) IX, LORD STRANGE, son and heir, aged 5 and more at his father's death. On 21 September 1462 he had licence to enter into his possessions, though not of full age. He was summoned to Parliament from 28 February 1466/7 to 19 August 1472 as John Strange. He married, 1stly, on or before 27 March 1450, Jacquette, sister of Elizabeth, Queen Consort of Edward IV, daughter of Richard [WIDEVILL] 1st EARL RIVERS, by Jacquette, widow of John DUKE OF BEDFORD, daughter of Pierre DE LUXEMBOURG, COUNT OF ST. POL; and 2ndly, Anne. He died s.p.m. 16 October 1479. His widow was living 26 February 1480/1. [Complete Peerage XII/1:356, XIV:596-7, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
