Notes - Presuming these are children of John & Delia BURT - 1850 census shows Delia BURT living with Wm. H. BURT and the other boys all nearby. Especially note the name 'Paschal' in the family of John L. BURT. This is a particular name of the Wake Co., NC BURTs, of which Capt. John BURT is one.
Note: A Deler BURT buys land in Morgan Co. AL in 1860. The original copy actually says 'Deler' , but it also is distinctly written in "her" heirs assigns, etc. However, she would have been 74 in 1860...Believe this must have been Delia BURT. It's possible there was a single daugher, but no record of this is in the 1850 census.
A Delia BURT is not, however, in the 1860 census, which was taken in August in the area where her sons lived. She must have died between Jan and Aug of 1860.
Naming patterns: Delia Lane BURT's father was Joseph LANE, would follow that she might name an eldest son after her father. "Henry" has no known anticedenet - of all the BURT's shown in the census, this one is most highly suspect as being of another family. "John L.", guess it stands for John Lane BURT - after both his father and his mother, "William Hardy", Capt. John had brother named Hardy. William runs in all the BURT families... [4]
