Notes |
- He was a gunsmith by trade, but afterward purchased a farm, and turned his attention to farming. Doug Goodman has death on 21 May 1823. According to Reynolds (ref 13), 1821 is the date of death in court records. 1829 is on stone. DAR references have 1823. Buried in Ebeneezer Cemetery with Hannah. Was in revolutionary war. See references 2, 3, & 4. Roster of Soldiers and Patriots of the American Revolution Buried in TN by Bates lists him marrying Sarah Pruden 1st in 1775 then Hannah at a later date. Membership Roster and Soldiers of the TN Society of the DAR lists the marriage to Hannah in 1775. Info from Doug Goodman lists 1775 as the date John married Hannah. Not sure which is correct, and which children are by which wife. It would seem Hannah was the second wife, as he is buried with her in Tennessee.
