  see my # 777:311,322-323; 785 vol. 2:736 The book "THE PEYTONS OF VIRGINIA", 2004, volumes 1 and 2, by The Peyton Society of Virginia, is the source for much of the information on the family 1577.0 DOROTHY (PEYTON) SMITH ROY She was born about 1690 in Gloucester County, now Mathews County, Virginia. About 6 June 1700 in Gloucester County she married Captain Charles Smith. He was born about 1670 in Old Rappahannock County-now Essex County, Virginia. They had at least 2 children:(785 vol 2:736) .1 PEYTON abt1707-?---The Main Line 788.0 .2 ROBERT, Captain abt 1709-? Charles died in 1709 in Essex County, now Caroline County, Virginia. About 1711 in Virginia Dorothy married John Guy Roy, son of Richard Roy and Dorothy Mary Marsh. He was born about 1682 in Virginia. They had at least 4 children:(777:311,322-323; 785 vol 2:736) .3 REUBEN abt 1712-abt1757 .4 THOMAS abt1714-? .5 RICHARD abt1716-? .6 dau abt1718-? Richard died about 1734 in Port Royal, Essex County, now Caroline County.
