      James was born in 1880. He passed away in 1935.

      The great-grandfather of James Henry Carney III was James Henry Carney who came from a line of Carneys that resided from about 1812 in the Big Marrowbone Creek area of Cheatham County where it borders with Davidson County. There were also several of this Carney line who lived in Dickson County.

      James first married Kizzia "Kizzie" May Oliphant in 1899. Together they had 7 Children and then in 1914 at age 34 Kizzie died. James then married Mary Pearl Bostick in 1916 and together they had 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys.

      James Henry Carney's death certificate indicates the cause of his death was "Lobar Pneumonia, type undetermined." He is buried in Section T, Row 15, Grave 74 in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

      Occupation listed: Trade-Moulder in Industry-Gray & Doudley, mother Martha Stewart, spouse Pearl Carney at death. Died of Pneumonia.
