Notes - BIRTH:ONE RECORD 20-AUG, ANOTHER 28-AUG.
13-FEB-91 FROM WESLEY SULLIVAN:
John Tyler was active in the Civil War. He was in a U.S. Federal Prison at Rock Island, Illinois and Mammy (Mary) Carney got some gold and bought him out of the prison. He lost a leg during the war.
John's war records are listed in the Nashville Archives - not much, but some. Wesley has some pictures of John and Mary in large oval frames, with several pictures of Mary in later years with pictures of older family members which can not be identified. They came from the home place when his uncle Grady died years ago. Wesley also has a battered Carney bible with the listings on John Tyler's children.
Marriage date from Willis site for Tennessee marriages as:
MARY F. WILLIS to John T. Carney, 27 Feb 1867, Sumner Co., TN
Alternate 5 Mar 1866 - Davidson County, Tennessee
Glenda Carney has pictures of John Tyler and Mary Willis.
- BIRTH:ONE RECORD 20-AUG, ANOTHER 28-AUG.
