Notes - BIOGRAPHY: Inscription on gravestone of Samuel and Prudence in the Dyer Street Cemetery, north of the Albany-Hartford Road (Now Bristol Drive) "In Memory of Mr. Samuel Humphreys who died June 10, 1804 aged 70 years. Mrs. Prudence wife of Mr Samuel Humphreys died Feb 14 1808 aged 73 years" BIOGRAPHY: History: Master Sam was a schoolteacher/writer, and was lame. He and his family lived in Canton, in the Suffrage District, near the now Albany Turnpike. Samuel's will was probated and inventoried, June 20 1804 Recorded in the Simsbury Town Records, IV pp301-436
