- Major Brockman, who I also believe was the son of John and Mary Collins Brockman, listed in the 1790 N.C. census, and he remained on his land in Rockingham County, North Carolina. There were two marriages between Major Brockman and Patterson women. The Major who was married to Elizabeth died in 1825 and left a Will naming his younger children, including Barney and I think Suzannah. Son John was named Executor of the Will. It is probable that Elizabeth was a second wife. Perhaps this same man was married to Mary Patterson earlier in Virginia.
