Notes - Sarah Ball was born in 1705 in colonial Virginia. She as the 2nd cousin of General/President George Washington. She first married Dennis McCarty in 1724 and they had 8 children. He died in 1742. She then married Abraham Barnes, year unknown. She passed away in 1786, leaving both a written will and accounting of her Estate in Fairfax County VA records (see memories).
Please notice that there are two Richard Barnes. One of them lived in Rowan, North Carolina. The other one lived in Brookfield, Mass. Do not intermingle their children.
