James Wright would own and occupy the south part of "Wright's Island." After he moved away, it is said he was the first settler of Portland, Middletown, Middlesex county, Connecticut. James and Dorcas had 7 children, James Jr (b.1661, m. Mary/Mercy Rose, had 12 children, Mary (died a child) , Elizabeth (m. Isaac Buck), James III (m. Lois Loomis), Daniel (m.
