Notes - Sir Thomas's manor was extended into Essex, Norfolkshire and
Suffolkshire. He had sons, Robert, William and Edmund, who were named for
the King and his son and his father. Edmund, the youngest, was alive in
1540, and undoubtedly lived at Market Bosworth. He married Elisabeth,
daughter of Robert Walton of Leistershire. His son, and heir, William, a
grandson of Sir Thomas, removed to Suffolk, and took up his residence at
Hengrave, carrying with him his father's coat of arms, which became known
as the "Paine of Hengrave arms".
