Notes |
- Hannah and John had five children before Hannah died. John married second about 1710 Avis Killingsworth, the widow of William Killingsworth who had died earlier in Surry County. At the time of his death, he owned 18,985 acres of land. His second wife, Avis Cook, died later in 1711. Children of John and Hannah (Jones) Cooke: John Cooke [7130.3.1] was named in his father?s will and was the beneficiary of ?my Indian Woman and her Increase,? two sows, nine piglets, two heifers, and a pony named Jockey. Henry Cooke [7130.3.2] (c1690 ? 1774) inherited ?my Indian Boy, Ned? from his father. Henry lived in Brunswick County, married four times, and had eight children. Elizabeth Cooke [7130.3.3] was omitted from her father?s will but was remembered in her stepmother?s will. Joanna Cooke [7130.3.4] was unmarried when her father wrote his will. She inherited one breeding sow and two piglets. Jane Cooke [7130.3.5] was named in the will of her grandfather.
