1975 Dec. Davenport, John Scott. 1975. "Earliest Pfautz/Fouts Families in America." National Genealogical Society Quarterly. 63(4):243-60. A carefully researched and documented Genealogy. See p. 245-46. Hans Michael Pfautz, his wife Ursula, and their five children arrived in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on 18 September 1727 on the ship William and Sarah from Rotterdam. (Not sure why just 5 children, it should have been all of them. researching more.) The ship's master was William Hill. Their destination in Pennsylvania was Skibach which was the German Settlement at Skippack (about 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia in present Montgomery County). On the same ship came Hans Michael. From Skippak, the family appears to have soon settled in Lancaster County. Hans Michael Pfauts died interstate in Lancaster Counter about February 1741. His estate was administered by his eldest son Jacob Pfautz with Augustine Widder and Daniel Mackinet as surities on his bond. A remarkable document dated 29 April 1763 gives great details on the settlement. The widow, Ursula Pfautz lived longer. The records of the First Reformed Church, Lancaster Borough, note that Ursula Pfautz, born about 1682 was buried in the graveyard on Augustine Widder's plantation on 16 May 1772. Likely her husband, Hans Michael, was also buried in the Widder Graveyard (not found in 1975), for Widder was on the land at least 10 years before Hans Michael Died. The five children of Hans and Ursula are in the proper with the name of each spouse and marriage year.
1. Jacob Pfautz married ca. 1719 to Anna Magdalena Kuntz
2. Hans Michael Pfautz married ca. 1733 to Catherine Schlauch (Slough)
3. Anna Margareta Pfautz married ca. 1736 to Augustine Widder (Wither)
4. Anna Barbara Pfautz married on 23 June 1734 to Jacob Heller.
