- Born in Milton, Buckinghamshire, she was living in Great Barford, Bedfordshire, when she met and married William Fitzhugh in 1608.
The following year, they moved to the town of Bedford where William ran a maltings business and served as local church warden.
He predeceased Margaret, who was buried here at St. Michael-le-Querne just before it was destroyed in London's Great Fire of 1666. The church was never rebuilt.
