The records for War Department Washington D.C. show that Michael Fry or Frei served as a Private in the Third Regiment Pennsylvania troops Revolutionary War. His name appears in the list of Captain Graydon (or Greydon)'s company.
The records also show that Michael Fry or Frei served as a Private in the Eleventh Pennsylvania Regiment, Revolutionary War. He was mustered Oct 17, 1777.
The state records at Harrisburg Pennsylvania Archives 3rd series vol 23 page 657, show that Michael Fry served as a Private in the James Young's Co of the 88th Battalion Cumberland Co Militia 1779 under Colonel Abraham Smith.
Another entry in the records of the War Department shows that he was a private in Captain Jacob Shurtz's company, 1st Regiment of Riflemen (Humphrey, Pennsylvania) during the war of 1812.
The house in which Michael Fry and his family lived was burned when in the service,destroying exact records of his birth, marriage, etc, and his wife and family were turned out homeless.
