      Hans Bär (1520 – 1600) was an Anabaptist who died before 1614 at Albis in the parish of Hausen, about nine miles south west of the city of Zurich, Switzerland.
      When Catherine Huber was buried at Hausen on April 22, 1622 the pastor caller her in the church book "deceased Hans Bar's Widow of the Bruder Albis."

      Hans Bar and his wife Verena Huber had eleven children born between 1636 and 1658. He died in 1659 and she died in 1676. Of the four brothers living at Ober Albis in 1678, Only Hans Bar remained in 1709.
      Hans Bär and his brother Hans Jakob Bär lived in the upper house at Ober Albis in 1649 when the dir farm was sold by Oswald Bar to Hans Jakob Bar, who lived in the lower house,
      Hans Bar was born in 1648 and had two sons with his first wife Verena Huber who died in 1679. In 1682 he married Barbara Hauser and had ten more children. She died in 1709. He was a wagoner, and after he died, July 1 1715, the farm was sold Dec. 5 1720."
      "Hans Bär (III),
      son of Lorenz, was born about 1612 in Albis, HausenParish, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Lived in Ober Albis, Hausen Parish, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. On 13 November 1649, along with his uncle, Hans Jakob Bär, and his brother, Hans Jagli Bär, he purchased the dairy farm from his cousin, Oswald Bär (son of Hans Bär (II), b 1570) for a total price of 2000 Florins to be paid in installments on St. Martin's Day (11 November) until 1662. He died 4 July 1659 in Canton Zurich, Switzerland.
      Hans married Verena Huber on 16 November 1634 in, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Verena was born in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland. She was buried 28 March 1676 They had the following children:
      1. Jakob Bär was baptised 10 January 1636 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Not listed in the 1644 Census of Hausen.
      2. Verena Bär was baptised 2 October 1637 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. She married Gorius Grob on 1659 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. He came from Hirzwagen.
      3. Lorenz Bär was born about 1639. He married Katharina Huber on 19 November 1662. Katharina, from Tufenbach, died after 1689 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Lorenz died an accidental death on 21 Dec 1687 in Ober Albis, Hausen Parish, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. A log in a saw mill fell on him.
      4. Veronika Fronegg Bär was baptised 17 April 1642. Veronika married Heinrich Naef, from Heisch, on 1 April 1663. Heinrich was baptised 18 October 1640. They had seven children.
      5. Ulrich Bär was baptised 17 September 1643. was buried 17 April 1707 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. As of 1689 he was not married.
      6. Adelheid Bär was baptised 18 October 1646 and was buried 4 December 1646 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland.
      7. Hans Bär Jr. was baptised 23 January 1648.
      Hans married (1) Verena Huber, from Schweickhof, Hausen Parish, on 27 August 1673 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Verena was buried 20 Oct 1679 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. They had two children:
      - Ulrich (bap 7 March 1675, bur 19 August 1676)
      - Hans Jakob (bap 18 March 1677-1759) Mennonite, Farmer, emigrated in 1719 to Lancaster Co., PA
      Hans also married (2) Barbara Hauser, from Rifferschwyl, on 11 January 1682. Barbara was born about 1656, the daughter of Hans Hauser and Barbara Ringger. They had ten children. She was buried 30 Jan 1709.
      From Jane Evans Best, PA Mennonite Heritage, vol IX no 4, p20: [Hans Bär] was listed in the Hausen census until 1709, but there is no record of his death in Hausen. She believes that he was the Hans Pare (sic) who warranted 400 acres in the London Company tract (Lancaster Co., PA) according to the "Supplement to the Account of the Surveyed Lands in the County of Chester"....This 100-acre tract was surveyed by Hance Graff and deeded in 1722 to Martin Bear. Hans died about 1717 in Lancaster Co., PA.
      8. Heinrich Bär was baptised 27 June 1650. He was buried 17 December 1704 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Heinrich married Elisabeth Frey, from Zwillikon in Affoltern, on 22 February 1676. Elisabeth was buried 31 March 1707 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. They had four children.
      9. Anna Bär was baptised 28 May 1652.
      10. Felix Bär was baptised 23 Apr 1654 in Albis, Hausen Parish, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. He died July 1689 in Ittlingen, Pfalz. Felix married Margaretha Haegi about 1682 in Rychen, Pfalz. Margaretha was born in Rossau, Mettmenstetten, Canton Zurich, Switzerland.
      11. Elisabeth Bär was born in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland and was baptised 12 Apr 1658 in Hausen, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. Elisabeth married Hans Heinrich Huber, from Alstetten, Canton Zurich, Switzerland. on 5 March 1678. She died 1689 in Pfalz, the year when the armies of King Louis XIV of France invaded the Kraichgau.
