  Biography Christian Greschke was born in the Province of Brandenburg, Prussia Johann Christian "Christian" Greschke was born about 1812, in Heinersbrück, Spree-Neiße, Provinz Brandenburg, Königreich Preußen, the son of Martin Greschke and his wife ?. The last name is also rendered as Groeschke, and Groschke. He married Christiane Johanne "Christine" Huenchen about 1840, in Prussia, subsequently having three known children, a daughter: Johanna Maria (1841– 1873), and two sons: Johann Martin (1843– 1917), and Johann Christian (1848– 1902). Flag of Brandenburg, Prussia Christian Greschke migrated from Brandenburg, Prussia to Victoria, Australia. Flag of Victoria, Australia The family emigrated on the 3rd November 1857, departing Hamburg aboard the ship Bielefeld, eventually destined for South Australia. After arriving in Melbourne, Victoria, the family made their way north and settled in southern New South Wales.[1] Christian's age was given as 45 years, and his occupation as Landmann. Christiane's age was stated as 39 years, and the children were listed as Marie, aged 16 years, Johann Martin, aged 14 years, and Johann Christian. aged 9 years. Johann Christian Greschke passed away on the 20th July 1901, in Burrumbuttock, New South Wales, Australia, with the event being registered at Albury. [2] Sources ?
