Notes - From Scioto Company Descendants, p. 204:
"Chester Pinney and various sons farmed 174 acres in Sharon Townshipsouth of Worthington. In 1860 he had $500 worth of equipment and hislivestock, valued at $1075, included four horses, five milk cows, sixteenother cattle, eighteen swine and ninety-seven sheep. He was raisingcorn, oats and hay for his livestock and producing butter and wool formarket. After Lucretia Pinney's death after childbirth, Chester marriedwidow Cynthia Barker. They had three sons and Chester received custodyat their divorce in 1839. Chester Pinney was a member of St. John'sEpiscopal Church until he withdrew April 25, 1834 at the request of Rev.Erastus Burr.

"He was nineteen when the family came West. On the town plat of 1820,Chester Pinney appears as the owner of lot No. 127, one of those receivedby his father in the division. He lived on the Pinney farm south of thetown, now owned by John J. Stoddart, of Columbus. He was a communicantof St. John's Church till April 25, 1834, when he withdrew."
