Notes |
- Gundobad succeeded with his brother Godigisel as sole rulers of theBurgundians. In 500, Clovis I, King of the Franks, defeated him with thehelp of Godigisel. This battle was followed by more between the twobrothers. Gundobad, after killing Godigisel while in an Arian church, then assumed both an alliance with the Franks and sole leadership ofBurgundy. He died in 516 at peace with the four Frankish kings, and wassucceeded by his son Sigismund.
