• Notes

  He [John de Vere] married Anne, daughter of Thomas (HOWARD), 2nd DUKE OF NORFOLK, by his 2nd wife, Agnes daughter of Hugh TYLNEY, of Boston, Lincs. He died s.p., 14 July 1526, and was buried at Colne Priory. At his death the office of Lord Great Chamberlain reverted to the Crown, as did also the Barony of Plaiz, although according to modern doctrine it fell into abeyance, between his 2 survIving sisters and coheirs and the son and heir of his eldest sister.
