BARONY OF BURGHERSH (IX, 7) 1446

EARLDOM OF WARWICK (XV) 1446 to 1449

ANNE, presumably suo jure COUNTESS OF WARWICK and de jure BARONESS BURGHERSH, daughter and heir, was born February 1443/4 at Cardiff. On the death of the Duke of Gloucester, 23 February 1446/7, she succeeded to the lordship of the Channel Islands. She died 3 January 1448/9 at Ewelme, Oxon., and was buried in Reading Abbey, aged nearly 5. At her death the Earldom of Warwick was held to devolve on her only paternal aunt of the whole blood, Anne. [Complete Peerage XII/2:384, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]

Anne, suo jure Countess of Warwick, and according to modern doctrine, Baroness Burghersh, only daughter and heir. She died an infant and unmarried 3 January 1448/9, when the Barony of Burghersh fell into abeyance between her aunts [the daughters of Isabel, her grandmother, by her 2 husbands] or their descendants.
