    Ellen Heale's will, dated 15 Oct 1710, bequeathed her son William 500 acres unless he died without issue; then it would go to Joseph, or to Ellen, Elizabeth, and Sarah. Ellen she gave 100 acres at Cherry Point. To William she gave three slaves, the furniture in her chamber and her stock of cattle and hogs, as well as her brandy still. Sons John and Joseph were given the money they owed her. Slaves and personalty were given to her daughters Ellen, Elizabeth and Sarrah. Hannah was given 5 pounds sterling; George a silver hilted sword and belt which were his father's, and Nicholas 20 shillings sterling. Her books were to be divided equally among her daughters and William.

In the name of God amen, I Ellen Heale of the Parish of St. Mary's White Chappell in the County of Lancaster --- being Sick and weak of body but praised be God of sound mind and ___ memory and considering the frailty of this mortal life and that all flesh must submit unto death when it shall please God to call me therefore make this my last will & testament in manner & form as fol-lows and first being truly and heartily sorry for all my sins past I recommend my soul unto the hands of almighty God my maker trusting and assuredly believing that I will be saved by the meritorious death and passion of my only savior the Lord Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently interred according the discretion of my executor hereafter named and as for my temprall estate I give and dispose thereof as follows, Imp. It is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral rights be first paid and discharged. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Will. Heale and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever all that parcel of land I lately bought of Mr. Thomas Taylor and Elizabeth his wife lying upon the branch of Capt. Richard Balls mill swamp containing five hundred acres as by the deeds for this land recorded in this county will___. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Wm. my lot of land in Queens Town together with all its houses and appurtenances to him the sd. Wm. Heale and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever and if in case sd son should die without such issue then it is my will therefore and I hereby give and bequeath all that tract of land containing five hundred acres _____ my town lot hereby given to my son Wm. unto my son Joseph Heale and his heirs lawfully to be begotten forever and if it should please God that the sd Joseph Heale should die without such heirs then I give and bequeath the same to my three daughters Ellen, Elizabeth, and Sarah Heale to be equally divided amongst them and their heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Ellen Heale one hundred acres of land lying at Cherry Point formerly given to me by my mother as by a Deed of gift for the same recorded amongst the records of that county___to her the sd Ellen Heale and the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten forever and for want of such heirs I give and bequeath the sd one hundred acres of land to my daughter Elizabeth and the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten forever and in case the sd Elizabeth should die without such heirs, then I give the sd one hundred acres of land unto my son John Heale and to his heirs forever. Item, I give to my son Wm. Heale and his heirs forever one negro woman named Yarabal and one negro girl named Nancy and one negro boy named Guy which the son and daughter of sd Yarabal and one negro man named _____ with all their future thereof ____ to him the sd Wm. and his heirs forever aforesaid. Item, I give and bequeath to my son William Heale my bed and all its furniture as it now stands in my chamber and ye stocks of cattle and hogges ____ belong to the plantation upon ye fore mentioned five hundred acres of land to ye sd. Item, I give to my daughter Sarah one feather bed and bolster and one negro boy named Jacob to her and her heirs forever also one other negro called James. Item, I give to my daughter Sarah one old suit of curtains and vallences of Linsie Woolsey. Item, I give to my three daughters, Ellen, Elizabeth, and Sarah Heale and my son William one Doz. and half of new leather chairs to be equally divided between them. His wife received six Negroes and the use of 5 others as well as 1/3 of the rest of the estate; his daughter Betty eight Negroes, his brother to keep the ones he gave him. George will receive his estate at 19, with his wife acting as guardian unless "my wife shall marry any one that proves unkind or careless of my children or their Estates."
