According to the records kept by George Wright, Sr., James was wealthy in England but was defrauded of his property, so he came to America with his wife and children. He settled in Saybrook, CT, near the mouth of the Conn. River, where he farmed there the remainder of his life.
Immigrated to Saybrook in 1750.
