Notes:

Elisabeth "Betsy" Stebbins Sackett was the second school teacher in Gouveneur, the first, left after only one week. The schoolhouse was built of logs and measured 12 by 16 feet from the outer edges of the walls. It was built in the autumn of 1809, with twelve pupils between the ages of 3 and 15 attending.

Betsy married John Parker, son of Joshua Parker and Mary Adams in 1812 in Fowler, St Lawrence Co. NY. John Parker was born in 1784 in Canterbury, Windham Co. CT. He died on 26 May 1866 in Fowler, St Lawrence Co., NY and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, St Lawrence Co. NY.
