    Notes:

    From Jerry Stockton:
Robert 4 Stockton, born 1783 in Sevier County, Tennessee, father was Thomas 3 (Richard 2, Davis 1) Stockton, Sr. In 1799 Thomas 3 Stockton, Sr., and his wife, Mary (nee Golden) Stockton, gave a power-of-attorney to a neighbor who also lived on the French Broad River in Sevier County, Tennessee. This power-of-attorney was written on the back of deed #10. I own the original deed #10 that has the power-of-attorney. This power-of-attorney proves that my Robert 4 Stockton's parents were Thomas and Mary Stockton, NOT Thomas and Prudence (nee Goudyloch) Stockton. There was a Thomas and Prudence (nee Goudelock) Stockton, but they lived in Rutherford County, North Carolina, where that Thomas died in 1805. I can send you a jpeg of deed #10 and the power-of-attorney that is on back if you wish.

Here is a transcription of Deed #10.
