Frode, too, was beset with relatives who wished totake away his kingdom. One of these was Ubbe, who had married Frode'ssister Ulfhild. While Frode was fighting wars in Russia and Ruthenia,Ubbe usurped the throne. Frode was forced to return to Denmark toreclaim his crown.
