    In the war with Britain in 1814, John Marshburn Redwine served as a private in Captain Joseph Whorton's company in the Jackson County, Georgia Militia. His service is listed as January 5 - February 15, 1814. This per information found in the Redwine family file at the Georgia Archives.
    In Deeds of GA, Franklin Co., 1784-1826, by Martha Acker, I find these entries concerning John Marshburn Redwine: "DEED dated Franklin Co., 4 Nov. 1817, rec. 4 Aug. 1824, from William Hall of afore said to JOHN REDWINE of same. In cons. of $25, conveys 71 ac. in Franklin Co. on north side of Rice Crk., adj. John Groover and said Hall. Wit: Joshua Hearne, Andrew Shelnut. Sworn to by Hearne before Richard C. Bond, J.P. 1 Sept. 1821.
    (P.444 in text.) "DEED dated Franklin Co., 4 Nov. 1817, rec. 4 Aug. 1824, from William Hall to JOHN REDWINE. In cons. of $70, conveys 29 ac. in Franklin Co. in the fork of Rice Crk., on Barnet's old line, being part of land granted to said Hall.
    Wit: Joshua Hearne, Andrew Shelnut. Swork to by Hearne before Richard C. Bond, J.P. 1 Sept. 1821.
    "DEED dated 26 March, 1822, rec. 4 August, 1824. From Christopher Baker (x) of Franklin Co. to JOHN REDWINE of same. In cons. of $100, conveys 113 ac. in Franklin Co. on Rices Crk., waters of Broad Riv., granted to said Baker 22 December, 1820. Wit: John McFarland, Joshua Hearne. Sworn to by Hearne before Richard C. Bond, J.P. 17 April 1824. (P.444 of text.)
    "DEED dated 26 March, 1822, rec. 5 August, 1824. From Christopher Baker (x) of Franklin Co. to JOHN REDWINE of same. In cons. of $300, conveys 120 ac. in Franklin Co., on Rice Crk., waters of Broad Riv., being part of 200 ac. formerly in Wilkes Co., now in Franklin Co., granted to John Rice 24 January, 1791. Wit: John McFarland, Joshua Hearne. Sworn to by Hearne before Richard C. Bond, J.P. 17 April, 1824."
    It should be noted that the Index to the 1820 Georgia census has John Redwine living in Madison County. This is more that likely correct as John may have had land adjoining Madison and Franklin counties.
    In 1830, John Redwine is living in Coweta County, Georgia. he died there in the city of Palmetto on November 25, 1841.
