Sketch of Isaac H. Burt of Alesville, MS. His father is given as Hardy Burt, born near Raleigh, NC about 1784 and a planter. Hardy married Miss Martha Lane and located near Decatur, Morgan Co., AL and resided there until 1836. Children were all born there.
Martha's father was Joseph Lane, a Rev. soldier. They moved to Layfayette Co., MS 1836 when land was first opened to white settlement. Hardy's father was John Burt, a Revolutionary soldier from NC. Isaac b. 21 Jun 1822 near Decatur, AL, m. Miss Sarah M. Caruthers, d/o Samuel Caruthers of Layfayette Co., MS. She died August 1887. Isaac died after 1891. |
